The Philadelphia Group hosted the second convention in Philadelphia in 1950. Their name was given to the first Grand Award winner.
The Niagara Fontier Group hosted the first convention in Buffalo in 1949. Their name was given to the second Grand Award Winner.
After the first two conventions the name for the highest award was simply called "The Grand Award".
