Suggestions for Contributors

Whatever successes the BNAPS websites have achieved and will continue to receive are due to the input submitted by the membership, particularly the program managers. The Web Team is established to place your contributions on the web sites in accordance with your requests. The Web Team does not normally go looking for material, in part because there is a need for members to have ownership of the web sites.

The following are suggestions for improving the efficiency of this process:

  • First, determine which of the Web Team has lead responsibility for your item. At the end of this list, those are presented and they can also be found on the main page by selecting "Contacts".

  • Next, send your request or questions to the appropriate member of the team. If you are uncertain, then please send it to the Webmaster (webmaster@bnaps.org).

  • Always send a copy of your request to the Webmaster. When an item has been completed, the team member you chose will inform the Webmaster, so that What's New can be updated.

  • If you do not receive an acknowledgment of your request within 3-4 days, please advise the Webmaster. If the Webmaster is available, this will show at the top of the main page. Please remember that we are all volunteers and other aspects of our lives (such as vacations) might mean that a team member can not respond quickly. However, please also be assured that we encourage reminders - sometimes requests get lost and we are happy to go looking for them.

  • Another factor to consider is that team members do not all use the same html coding techniques, which sometimes makes backup difficult. For example, the old-fashioned Webmaster writes raw html coding, from scratch, whereas others use more modern software html writers. This is not an impossible element, just a bit more time-consuming.

  • Finally, all members are encouraged to send constructive suggestions for improving any of the web sites.
