A Six Cents Small Queen pays postage on this
double weight letter from Calgary, Alta., Aug 21, 1884. On reverse, a
Toronto, Ont., AM, Au 27/84 receiver. Six days in transit.
A six cents Small Queen paying double postage
and a 2 Cents R.L.S. pays Registration in Canada from Calgary, Oc 9/84 to
Toronto, Ont. The envelope is sealed with a large red wax seal showing
'Department of the Interior' and may have been that little extra weight
causing the double postage.
